Situated in the shadow of the iconic Sentinel Peak in Hout Bay Harbour, we have been providing speciality beams, flooring, decking, furniture, studios, mountain huts and houses for more than 25 years.
We are an ecological, sustainable company sourcing our wood from stands of alien eucalyptus trees cleared to re-establish the Cape Floral Kingdom.
We are the only company which has extensive experience working with wood from the living tree to the kiln-dried, machined finished product. We fell our own trees and mill the logs into boards for furniture, flooring and decking as well as beams for studios, mountain huts and houses. This unique control over all the stages of the process puts us at a distinct advantage over our competitors who are only able to specialise in one of these stages.
Our Offerings
Decks and Flooring
We use Sugar Gum (Eucalyptus Cladocalyx) for a beautiful, hardwearing floor. This is native of Australia where it is prized as a fine grained, honey coloured , durable timber suitable for use both inside the house and externally.
Studios and Cabins
We build amazing garden studios of all sizes. We are masters in traditional pegged mortise and tenon and dovetail jointing techniques which facilitates the fast erection of sustainable timber frames which touch the earth lightly.
Furniture
Over the years we have been commissioned to do some really interesting projects. We create custom furniture pieces.
Houses
Traditional joining techniques coupled with very modern design enable us to build a frame for your entire house or to seamlessly integrate with steel and masonry to create an exquisite combination of timeless materials.
